This project proposes the redevelopment of Sovereign House, a substantial office building close to the historic centre of Tonbridge.
This high density mixed use development proposes 337 apartments of mixed tenure including private, shared and affordable accommodation, together with over 2,000sqm of commercial retail space.
Responding to the new Area Action Plan, drawn up by the local authority, this development is regarded as a key first stage of regenerating the Botany Quarter of Tonbridge.
This contemporary design provides accommodation in two distinct blocks, including a striking 15 storey tower. The proposal will open up previously inaccessible parts of the Botany Stream to the public, providing new open space and a direct pedestrian link to the train station. Care and attention has been paid to the sensitive issue of proposing two levels of parking alongside public vistas through the introduction of translucent and green ‘living screens’.
