The redevelopment of the Royal Charlie Public House forms part of the wider regeneration of the Poplar area in Tower Hamlets, London.
This significant mixed use scheme provides residential accommodation across 10 storeys with commercial A3 space at ground floor level. The development will provide modern 21st Century urban living within easy reach of Canary Wharf and the City of London.
The proposed design extends the concept of modern living space initiated at the new Langdon Park DLR redevelopment and incorporates a high level of sustainable technology.
The proposal will meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and will provide at least 20% of its energy needs through renewable sources.
The scheme was granted planning permission in June 2009.
